n64gm065 - Developed by Rare, Ltd. and Published by Nintendo of America Inc., "Banjo-Tooie" was released on November Nov 20, 2000 for the Nintendo 64 (N64) system. Banjo Tooie is a rare action adventure platformer, the sequel to Banjo-Kazooie. After two years under the rock, the self-absorbed, ugly witch named Gruntilda is freed from her death bed by her two sisters. However, she is nothing but dry skin and bones and so the three plot to restore her bodily appearance by sucking the life out of the land into her. You play as Mumbo, a T-Rex, Submarine, Money-Van, Washing Machine, and more. The two main characters are Banjo and Kazooie. As our heroes hears of the Witches dastardly plan, they set off on another quest to thwart them. Unlike the original Banjo kazooie game, the two characters can now separate, helping them get to even harder areas. You must collect jiggies to open new areas (much like the original) as well as learn 40 new moves. As for the gameplay and setting itself, the worlds are immense, beautiful and grandiose, with plenty of useful items to collect to complete this adventure. There are 8 diverse and gigantic worlds with plenty of action and puzzles. The breadth of this adventure is challenging, and the graphics are beautifully designed, rich in detail and doesn't bleed. The gameplay is very polished and the music a great compliment to this adventure. A nice little feature of this game is that just as in Donkey Kong 64, you can play four-player minigames that bridge the spectrum from point battles, first-person shooters to bumper cars.
